We help children, parents and educators develop their Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
EQ is the ability to recognise and then effectively manage your emotions. It can help children and adults become happier, more resilient and empathetic.
Emotional Intelligence is proven to have a bigger impact on a child’s academic achievement than their IQ, reading or Maths skills. Whilst these are still hugely important we are aware that negative behaviour, a lack of resilience and empathy can hinder children’s learning within the classroom and we would love to be able to help teachers’ teach rather than spend their time managing ‘poor behaviour’.
As parents we also want our children to be happy at school, to learn empathy and to be kind.
This is where we can help…
We teach children that all emotions are acceptable but that their behaviour as a result of those emotions is not.
For example, just because they are angry, it does not mean they can hit or shout.
We also help those who suffer with anxiety and a lack of confidence by teaching them proven ways to manage these overwhelming emotions when they arise.
For older students we can help them cope with the daunting transition periods to secondary school, exams, friendships and bullying.
As well as providing in school programmes with pupils we can also deliver training to parents and teachers. This can help them to develop their own EQ and that of the children’s at home and within the classroom.
We also deliver parenting programmes to help parents become Emotionally Intelligent themselves and understand the strategies we give built upon the principles of EQ.
We are passionate about delivering these sessions and to help our stretched mental health services. Teaching our children early on to talk about their feelings and emotions will give them the tools that they need to navigate through childhood to become well rounded adults who can then deliver those lessons to their children.
We currently deliver the programme to several local primary schools and our local secondary school. Our staff are fully insured, DBS checked and trained to deliver these sessions.
